In line with their growth trajectory, they are seeking a seasoned consultant to spearhead the development and implementation of their new supermarket distribution centre.
Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant for Supermarket Distribution Centre setup to lead the planning, construction, and optimization of our client’s upcoming distribution centres. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of the new facility into their operational framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a thorough evaluation of the client’s existing distribution processes, identifying areas for enhancement and optimization.
- Develop a comprehensive strategy for the design, construction, and layout of the new distribution centre, encompassing warehouse configuration, equipment procurement, and workflow optimization.
- Liaise with external vendors and contractors to oversee the procurement and installation of necessary equipment and infrastructure for the distribution centre.
- Implement industry-leading best practices and standards to streamline operations and enhance efficiency within the distribution centre.
- Design and deliver training programs for distribution centre staff, ensuring proficiency in equipment operation and adherence to operational protocols.
- Monitor the performance of the distribution centre post-launch, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to the client’s management team throughout the setup and operational phases of the distribution centre.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in the design and setup of distribution centres, ideally within the retail or supermarket sector.
- In-depth understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain management principles.
- Proven track record in project management, with the ability to effectively plan, execute, and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify challenges, develop solutions, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
