Our client is a leading food distribution company dedicated to providing high-quality food products to a diverse range of partners. Their mission is to deliver fresh and reliable food solutions with efficiency and exceptional service. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Logistics Manager to join the team and play a key role in optimizing their warehouse operations.

As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end logistics and distribution operations of the warehouse. This includes coordinating the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide variety of products. You will ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time, to the quality standards required, and at the most cost-effective price.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Management: Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including inventory control, order processing, and dispatch of goods.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse staff, ensuring high levels of motivation and productivity.
  • Logistics Coordination: Plan and coordinate transportation schedules, delivery routes, and distribution strategies to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food safety, quality, and hygiene within the warehouse, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and manage operational costs, finding opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, conducting regular stock audits and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Liaise with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of service.
  • Data Analysis: Use logistics and operational data to identify trends, make data-driven decisions, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Health & Safety: Ensure that all warehouse activities are conducted in a safe manner, in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in logistics management, preferably in the food distribution or FMCG sector.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management and logistics software systems.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Where appropriate, we will collect information about criminal convictions as part of the recruitment process or we may be notified of such information directly by you. We will use information about criminal convictions and offences usually where such processing is necessary to carry out our obligations and provided we do so in line with our contractual obligations to our clients and candidates.

Automated Decision-Making
 You will not be subject to decisions that will have a significant impact on you based solely on automated decision-making, unless we have a lawful basis for doing so and we have notified you.
