We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Director to lead a client’s commercial strategy and operations.
Role Overview:
As the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the commercial strategy for the business. You will lead a cross-functional team including sales, marketing, and business development to maximize revenue growth, profitability, and market share. Your role is critical in ensuring the company’s continued success in an ever-competitive market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy Development: Design and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy that aligns with the company’s growth objectives and market trends.
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Lead the sales team in achieving revenue targets by identifying new business opportunities, optimizing existing channels, and expanding into new markets.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats. Use data to influence pricing, promotions, and product positioning strategies.
- Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with key retailers, distributors, and suppliers to strengthen market presence.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing commercial team, fostering collaboration between sales, marketing, and product development departments.
- Budget & P&L Management: Oversee the commercial budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize return on investment.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular reporting to the executive team, using data to inform decision-making and long-term strategy.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Director or senior leadership role in the FMCG sector, preferably with a focus on hard goods.
- Strong understanding of FMCG market dynamics, including consumer behavior, retail landscape, and competitive positioning.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and developing strategic partnerships.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a commercial team.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Analytical mindset with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and market analysis.
- A degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field is preferred. An MBA is an added advantage.
