Position Overview: As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be a crucial part of the team, ensuring the highest standards of safety in the food manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety protocols, promoting a safety-first culture, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs tailored to the unique challenges of a food manufacturing environment.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections of production processes, machinery, and facilities to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production teams to promote and enforce safe work practices and procedures.
- Provide comprehensive training on safety protocols, hygiene practices, and equipment operation for all employees.
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety performance, incidents, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Stay current with industry-specific regulations and best practices to continuously enhance safety programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Food Science, or a related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager in food manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards specific to the food industry.
- Strong understanding of food processing equipment and production line safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
